Wow, and beta 4 was just released. Can't wait for the final version.
Yeah, pretty fast.
I'm off to download....
It says the latest firebug works with it, however the first two sites I used it on crashed the browser. So, back to FF2
Not too bad; I do prefer the UI in this newest release. However, it is disappointing that I can't run both FF 3b5 and FF 2.0.0.13 concurrently. Sure, I can run one or the other and have both installed at the same time, but if i start up FF 2 and then try to start FF 3b5 with it's own executable another instance of FF2 starts.
Similarly if I start FF 3B5 first and then try to start FF2 another instance of FF3 starts.
Kind of annoying and it makes comparing the two against each other a little more difficult. I know in the past a "portable" version of the beta's has been made available - I would like to get a hold of a portable version of the final FF 3 so I can run some benchmarks between the two simultaneously.
saw this the other day
how to run ff2 and ff3 at the same time
I didn't do the whole create a new profile thing.. I just used portable ff3 and appeneded
-P minefield -no-remote to the end of a shortcut to firefox.exe in the portable dir.. and not portablefirefox.exe the launcher which has it's own "is firefox running" check.
i've been using 3b5 for several days now and, compared to 3b4, this latest beta release is a huge memory hog. it used to be that restarting the browser was necessary after 10-12 hours or so, but now the memory drain starts right from the beginning. for me at least, this version is a step backwards from the previous beta version.
You're in Easy Mode. If you prefer, you can use XHTML Mode instead. |
