This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Not exactly. It's hard because I don't have access to a Mac to test it on. I really wouldn't mind getting a Mac Book, but I need to wait for a few more years of newsvine earnings to pay for it ;-)

It was a pleasure writing that article. Thanks for posting it here. I'm a writer for Mashable, but hoping to make a good impression and do well, and glad to see it here on Newsvine, as I'm also new to Newsvine, but hope to bring some great Web 2.0 content here as well :)

Firevine is great, unfortunately, it conflicts with some of my other toolbars, but hopefully it will be fixed!

Try the new version. It's no longer a toolbar. It's still got a bug or two, but that's what verstion 0.4.1 will be for when I get time to fix it ;-)

Welcome, JMowery! Have you tried the latest version of firevine? It removes the toolbar and instead puts a menu in Firefox. It's nifty.

Some of the others in the list I've started using now. It was a nice article. I look forward to what you provide here on Newsvine.
